Herman Metz Tramp Art Box

A tramp art box by Herman Frederick Metz. Metz was a firefighter who died tragically while preforming his duties in 1918. He made a dozen tramp art boxes which were packed in newspaper for over 80 years before they were discovered. This is one of the few examples that was stained. He lived in St. Joseph, MO.

His work is featured in Tramp Art Another Notch on page 20 & 21.
